In 5 July was a year since the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Most Blessed Metropolitan of Kyiv and of All Ukraine Volodymyr (Sabodan) rested in God.

During the Divine Liturgy the Dean of First Deanery of New York and Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Forerunner the Archpriest Alexander Belya particularly prayed for the repose of soul of that unforgettable Hierarch. After the Liturgy was performed the service for the dead.

It should be noted that Metropolitan Volodymyr ordained father Alexander to deaconhood and priesthood. Also according to blessing of His Beatitude the ark with pieces of relics of Holy Fathers of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was given to Cathedral of St. John.

At the same day in Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was consecrated the cross-shaped gravestone on the grave of Most Blessed Metropolitan Volodymyr. The consecration was performed by Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Most Blessed Metropolitan Onufriy together with other Hierarchs of UOC.
